There has been a rapid growth in the adoption of geothermal heating/cooling systems in the past decade. The ground temperature remains unchanged year round which enables it to be a perfect heat source in winter and heat sink in summer.

Geothermal systems operate with the use of heat pumps which use the ground as a heat source to provide warm water typically in the 105F to 120F range. There are numerous applications for indirect heating such as domestic water preheating, radiant floor heating and swimming pool heating.

Due to the low water temperatures supplied from geothermal systems we typically recommend plate style heat exchangers in these applications. Plate heat exchangers offer the greatest efficiency and can operate with temperature differentials as low as 2 degrees Fahrenheit.
