Industrial/ Hydronic Line – Alfa Laval CB Models
Alfa Laval’s Copper Brazed (CB) range of brazed plate heat exchangers are the standard model of brazed units for use in industrial and hydronic applications. They feature efficient heat transfer with a small footprint, and are commonly used in HVAC, process heating and cooling, oil cooling, and solar heating applications, among others. The plates used in the CB line are thin, corrugated, and made of SS316; the unit is self-contained, and rated to handle both high pressures and temperatures.
The construction of these units does not include gaskets, making them ideal for applications where the process media or other conditions could damage the gaskets that would be used traditionally in gasketed-plate heat exchangers. Examples of such applications include district heating and applications dealing with tap water.
CB units can be installed in single, dual, or multi-pass configurations, with various sizes, plate patterns, and connections also available. Media within the units flows in channels formed between the plates and corner points in an arrangement that uses counter-current flow patterns. The contact points between the plates themselves are also brazed for further pressure and temperature resistance.

Rigid Feet Assembly
Assemblies with rigid feet affixed by studbolts are available for the AlfaNova 76 and can be combined with heating or cooling insulations. Valutech supplies feet assemblies with nuts, studbolts, and washers compatible with the threaded mounting studs of the heat exchanger; for more details refer to the table below:
