Graphite
Block Heat Exchangers
As a representative for SGL GROUP, Valutech has been providing graphite block heat exchangers for the chemical industry
in Canada for over a decade. Our block heat exchangers are constructed
with a synthetic resin-impregnated graphite which combines the universal
corrosion resistance of graphite with the high efficiency of block
heat exchangers.
Heat transfer occurs in solid ®DIABON graphite blocks which
are assembled to form a column which provides the required heat
exchanger area in a single unit. These blocks are arranged so that
the product comes into contact only with the corrosion-resistant
®DIABON graphite material. This unique design makes the block
heat exchanger the perfect solution for handling extremely corrosive
mixtures.
The graphite block heat exchanger offers certain advantages:
- They are more flexible and compact
- Corrosive media can be used in both service and process sides
- Capacity can be increased by adding block elements
- Minimal downtime over their entire service life
- Cleaning and maintenance of block units are very simple
Because of they are so compact and adaptable, block heat exchangers
are used in a variety of ways as:
- overhead condensers
- sump coolers
- pickling line heaters
- reactor coolers
- ventilation condensers
- circulation coolers for quenchers
- preheaters for evaporators
Our block heat exchangers are currently giving excellent performances
at: phosphoric acid plants, battery acid plants and sulfuric acid
dilution systems.
