Graphite Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

In partnership with SGL GROUP, Valutech has been actively involved in supplying graphite shell and tube heat exchangers to the process industry in Canada. Our shell and tube heat exchangers are made of ®DIABON resin impregnated graphite which offers excellent corrosion protection.

Our shell and tube heat exchangers are used as heaters, coolers, condensers, falling-film coolers, evaporators and absorbers, especially in the treatment of:

• hydrolic acid
• sulphur acid
• hydroflouric acid
• phospheric acid
• chlorinated acid
• organic and inorganic media
• waste acids
• combustion gases

Constructed with ®DIABON NS 1 and NS 2 process equipment graphite, the graphite shell and tube heat exchanger is virtually resistant to all organic and inorganic media. The graphite itself is a synthetic resin-impregnated fine-grain graphite with a homogeneous material structure and a uniform pore size distribution. The pores of the raw graphite are completely sealed with synthetic resin which gives the graphite shell and tube heat exchanger certain special advantages:

• They offer low pressure drops and high efficiency.
• Large heat exchange areas (over 2,000 m2) are available.
• Excellent resistant to stress and pressure surges
• Special grades of tubes with higher strength and better corrosion resistance are available.
• The units are easy to repair.
• Heat exchangers are built to international codes.
