Regasketing
Heat Exchangers
Reconditioning plate heat exchangers is a method of renewing the
efficiency and like of a plate heat exchanger. We offer the most
comprehensive reconditioning service to the process, HVAC and light
industries. Under our "All Brand Service" we recondition and regasket
all manufacturer's brands of plate heat exchangers including Alfa
Laval (Vicarb) and Tranter, APV, Armstrong, ITT, Sondex, Swep, Polaris,
GEA and Schmidt.
- Our process involves careful steps to ensure the plates metal
characteristics are not compromised during this procedure.
- Our unique and innovative method of removing gaskets in a nitrogen
tank whereby the gasket is frozen from its groove extends the
life of the plate.
We service the following brand name heat exchangers:
- Vicarb
- Tranter
- APV
- Armstrong
- ITT
- Sondex
- Swep
- Polaris
- GEA
- Schmidt
Other
Services
To support our heat exchangers we also offer a wide range of maintenance
and technical services to keep your equipment performing at its
optimal best. As users of heat exchangers you may already enjoy
impressive heat transfer rates, but are always on the look out for
any way to maintain your equipment and keep it free of worn out
parts, i.e., gaskets, dirt, contamination and corrosion.
Since nothing lasts forever, even the best designed equipment is
going to eventually deteriorate to a point where productivity suffers
and your profits shrink. Valutech's reconditioning and maintenance
service for plate heat exchangers comes with a “as-good-as-new guarantee"
and can only enhance your bottom line.

Gasket Removal
|
Plate Cleaning
|
|
The
plates are immersed in a liquid nitrogen bath at -196°
C (-320° F). After one minute at this temperature, the
gaskets become brittle, shrink, and separate cleanly from
the plate
|
The
deposits to be removed from the plate naturally vary in composition.
Most types can be removed by immersion in a series of chemical
baths. If required, we also use other methods for cleaning.

Inspection
|
High Pressure Cleaning
|
|
Use
in excessively corrosive applications may cause minute pinholes
or cracks not visible to the eye. To find these flaws, the
plate is sprayed with a dye penetrant and is then inspected
under ultraviolet light or with a developer.
|
The
plate is then cleaned by high pressure water jet to remove
all traces of the dye penetrant.

Oven Curing
|
|
Date
stamped gaskets are selected from stock and bonded to the
plate with a two component epoxy resin adhesive.
|
The
glue is oven cured to form an immensely strong bond to the
plate. This oven cured epoxy is far superior to a rubber-based
cement.

Installation
|
|
The
plates are pressure tested before they are shipped back to
their owner.
