Drum Thickeners

We offer a range of mechanical sludge thickeners or dryers for wastewater treatment and industrial sludge reduction. Drum thickeners are devices for thickening sludge mechanically are used for drying sludge from municipal, industrial and solids wastes. Reduce your sludge volumes by as much as 90% which could mean significant savings when it comes to transporting liquid sludge.

How it works
Drum thickeners work by conveying polyelectrolyte treated (flocculated) sludge through a slowly rotating drum filter. The sludge remains in the drum, while the water phase passes through the filter cloth. Sludge concentration is regulated by adjusting the feed rate, angle and speed of the drum.

Aldrum Sludge Thickening System
These drum thickeners have a drum cleaning system with a spray bar for water. Using either potable water, final effluent or treated filtrate intermittently, the water consumption is kept low. ALDRUM comes in four sizes. These are available either as separate components or as complete modules. The ALDRUM Drum Thickener is usually with an ALDRUM Flocculation Reactor.

Aldrum Flocculation Reactors
These are a range of pressure-less reactors with a specially designed agitator to ensure proper flocculation of the sludge. The special design enables the flocculation of the solids in the sludge. The reactors are available in five sizes ranging from 30 GPM to 530 GPM on the basis of 1% dry solids sludge feed.

ADLRY is based on proven technology developed over extensive research work over the years. The modules are factory assembled and pre-tested for quick installation and commissioning. The system uses the direct drying principle with rotating drum and gas recirculation.
