Alfa
Laval Sanitary Pumps
At Valutech we know that the way fluids are pumped through your
processes can be the key to your success. Alfa Laval has developed
the highest quality sanitary pumps in the world. Add surprising
gains to your bottom line by using these pumps to add efficiency
and sanitary perfection to your process.
Alfa Laval is a world-leading supplier of pumps for a wide range
of applications in industries from food to dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical
( bio-pharm) and personal care. These sanitary pumps are developed
not only to meet your exacting demands for safety, efficiency and
hygiene, but also to ensure the careful handling of your products.
Our range of high quality sanitary pumps are divided into three
categories:
- Centrifugal Pumps
- Liquid Ring pumps
- Positive Displacement Pumps
1.
Centrifugal Pumps
Centrifugal pumps are essentially a type of enclosed sanitary pump
where liquid is drawn in and delivered in a continuous stream by
the rotation of a fan.
LKH Pumps
The premium LKH range of centrifugal pumps will meet most requirements
for gentle handling and efficient control. The enlarged inlets combined
with an advanced impeller design result in unrestricted product
flow and very low NPSH requirements. The LKH pump is designed for
CIP with emphasis on large internal roundings and cleanable seals.
Solid C
Our latest development, the Solid C sanitary pump sets a new level
of quality and ease of maintenance to standard duty centrifugal
pumps. If you want to move a product gently and efficiently through
a system, it pays to choose a pump of the future.
2.
Liquid Ring Pumps
The superior range of liquid ring pumps are custom designed for
use in food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries where pumping
involves liquids containing air or gases. Because the liquid ring
pump is self-priming when half filled with fluid, it is capable
of pumping from a suction line partly filled with air or gases.
And since they are self-priming, these pumps are ideal for CIP-return
applications.
Features
- Self-priming (when pump casing is half filled with fluid)
- Suitable for aerated fluids
- High efficiency
- Minimal maintenance
Simple in design, the liquid ring pump does not contain many parts.
While the pumphead is connected to a standard electric motor, the
impeller is fixed onto the pump shaft and housed in a pump casing
with a casing cover. The impeller itself is cast manufactured with
straight radial impeller vanes with one impeller size for each type
of liquid ring pump.
3.
Positive Displacement Pumps - Rotary Lobe
Positive displacement pumps from Alfa Laval are able to handle low,
medium and high viscosity media because of the non-contact pump
element design, and can be found in any process where gentle, sanitary
processing of viscous product is required. With its hygienic design,
anti-corrosive stainless steel construction and smooth pumping action,
these sanitary pumps have long established themselves in the food,
beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries.
These positive displacement pumps operate with no internal contacting
parts in the pump head. The rotors are driven by a gear train in
the pump gear gearbox providing accurate synchronisation or timing
of the rotors. The rotors contra-rotate within the pump head carrying
fluid through the pump, in the cavities formed between the dwell
of the rotor and the interior of the rotorcase.
In hydraulic terms, the motion of the counter rotating rotors creates
a partial vacuum that allows atmospheric pressure or other external
pressures to force fluid into the pump chamber. As the rotors rotate
an expanding cavity is formed which is filled with fluid. As the
rotors separate, each dwell forms a cavity. The meshing of the rotor
causes a diminishing cavity with the fluid being displaced into
the outlet port.
Features
- Gentle transfer of delicate suspended solids.
- Bi-directional operation.
- Compact size with high performance and low energy input.
- Ability to pump shear sensitive media.
- Easy maintenance.
- CIP Clean - can be used for pumping neutral or corrosive, uncontaminated
or abrasive products as well as products containing gases or tending
to froth. The pump handles both high and low viscosity products
even with fibrous or solid material.
- Strip Clean - can handle both high and low viscosity products
even with fibrous or solid material. The PC-SC Progressive Cavity
Strip Clean Pump can easily be cleaned by way of dismantling.
We offer two types of positive displacement pumps: 1) the SRU
Rotary Lobe Pump which offers heavy-duty construction and easy maintenance,
and is often referred to as the workhorse of the rotary lobe pumps
range and 2) the SX Rotary Lobe Pump which is considered the ultimate
solution for ultra-clean processes where the integrity of the end
product is crucial.
